$2000 Masters or Doctoral Nursing Program* Scholarship

*Student Enrolled in an Accredited Alabama Masters or Doctoral Nursing Program in Alabama

Criteria

Current Alabama resident
Currently enrolled in a Master or Doctoral nursing program in the state of Alabama
Have an Alabama nurses license tag on personal vehicle or have ordered one at the time of application (please submit photo of your tag or receipt from the tag office)
Must have completed at least one semester of graduate nursing courses as evidenced by official transcript from the last completed college semester
Cumulative GPA of 3.2 on 4.0 scale or higher in prior nursing education

General Information

Scholarship funds may be applied to tuition and other eligible school-related expenses. Recipients will receive an authorization form allowing their school to apply the award directly to those expenses.

If the student is enrolled in a pathway or dual-enrollment program, the authorization form also authorizes the school to apply or forward any remaining funds to the appropriate school of nursing.

Application Requirements

Deadline to receive application and all emailed materials will be March 31, 2026

Application will include:
- Student Information Form (below)
- Letter from school indicating current enrollment status and anticipated date of completion sent to scholarships@alabamanursesfoundation.org
- Completion of essay questions (below)
- Official transcript sent by the institution's registrar sent to scholarships@alabamanursesfoundation.org
- Picture (high-resolution headshot)

Award Process

Recipients are selected by the Alabama Nurses Foundation Scholarship Committee, and their decision shall be final
Recipients will be notified on or around May 1, 2026
NOTE: The check and packet will be mailed to your home address provided below. You will be responsible for hand-delivering the check and the packet to your school's finance office.
Alabama Nurses Foundation will follow up with a request to include you in a video testimonial about the process. If selected, you will be required to participate.

Recipients will be selected by the Alabama Nurses Foundation Scholarship Committee. Their decision shall be final. Scholarships will be awarded based on academic performance, inspiration, goals, work, school and/or community involvement, and writing quality will be evaluated (grammar, clarity, etc.).
